Milia &
Syringoma

What are milia and syringoma?

Milia form when keratin becomes trapped in small pockets under the skin, while syringoma are growths caused by an overgrowth of sweat-duct cells.

The two may look alike, but their causes and depth differ, so a diagnosis by a board-certified dermatologist is needed. At REORB, we target only the lesion while minimizing damage to the surrounding healthy tissue.

※ The recommended treatment may vary depending on your current skin condition and concerns.

“From Milia to Syringoma”

Our dermatologist identifies benign growths that appear as ivory or skin-colored bumps and treats each one according to its type.

  • Case 01

    Trapped Keratin

Keratin trapped beneath the skin can surface as small white bumps.

  • Case 02

    Sweat-Duct Overgrowth

Overgrowth of sweat-gland cells can cause clusters of small bumps around the eyes.

  • Case 03

    Genetic Factors

Family history or individual predisposition can cause them to recur or slowly increase.

  • Case 04

    Hormonal Changes

Lesions may become more visible or spread during hormonal or physical changes.
